While most of you were sleeping

This morning, the Stational Mass was celebrated at the church of St. Pudenziana.  According to tradition, she was a daughter of the Roman nobleman Pudens (which may or may not be the Pudens mentioned in 2 Tim 4:21), and she had a sister, Prassede (also a saint), and two brothers (also saints) Timothy and Novatus.  Not a lot is known about St. Pudenziana except that she and her sister buried many of the bones of the early martyrs in a well, which is on the site of the present church.  The church of St. Prassede is also one of the Lenten Station Churches.  You might get to see a couple of pictures of it in the next few weeks.
Now, back to work!
